Hi all! I have had questions on how I do my makeup when I do vintage inspired shoots like this one or this one. So I thought I would break it down for you so you can achieve this look too. It is easier than you think and so fun to wear!

First here is a couple things I must mention, with this look the face must be clean, the paler the better so minimal to no contouring, bronzing or blushing, trust me. L’OCCTANE was gracious enough to send me their new Sublime Essence Facial serum and Sublime BB cream to test out, and I used them when I put this look together and I was impressed. You all know I don’t use liquid foundation, so I was a bit skeptical but it gave me a great flawless base, and then I added my favorite powder in a pressing and rolling motion over top. Using all matte eyeshadows is an easy way to get the eyes to look effortlessly vintage, so use all matte if you can.

Ok, onto the full instructions: After you are done making your face flawless, add a primer to your eyes and using a matte eyeshadow that matches your skin (Beaches and Cream by MUG) then using a deeper color (Creme Brûlée by MUG)define your crease well then add a true gray (Stealth by MUG) to your outer v and crease and blend all together well, make sure you blend the crease on top as well. Add your liquid liner (I love this one) and wing your tip, two coats of mascara I used (Flower Extreme Measures Lengthening Mascaraand you are set! You can add falsies if you want to also but you know I have an aversion to them 🙂

The lips are very important with this look, chose a bright red with no metallic and no glitter, (I love this one in Rich Red) because it is matte but never looks dry on the lips. I prefer a matte finish over a glossy one but that is personal choice.

The hair matters too, mine is not overly stiff as you can see but I did do a deep part with both sides of my hair curled TOWARDS my face. Add pearls or keep it a bit modern by adding large studs like I did, these are c/o TACORI and they officially go with everything! Have fun and go show off your look for the night 😉
